I've been looking at home magazines for a long time... not really reading, mostly ripping. I can tell you if a magazine is really good by the number of pages I rip out. These pages have some element that inspires me to create something else or re-purpose an item I already have; re-decorate or redefine a space.
These posts
are the records of the wheels turning in my head, the realization of my ideas.

Do you need an idea? Ask me and I will do my best...

Wood Re-purpose

I am so excited to put up this barn door in our bedroom. It will be the door that leads to our fancy bathroom that is still in progress. Before I can install it, I wanted to make the rest of the wall look the same age as the door. After seeing several posts on palette wood uses, I decided to give it a try as paneling. I LOVE IT! It's amazing that every piece of wood has it's own character. They each seem to be made out of different woods and have different milling marks and color. I also reused the rusty nails that they came with to attach them to the wall. These aren't stained at all, just one coat of acrylic satin sealer.
